Andrew Haines – Co-Owner
At age 19 Andrew created his first business, which was in the commercial construction industry. From there Andrew & Leah founded a window coverings retail business, which had three locations. In 2001 the couple started their first sports teams while also developing a specialty advertising company called Biz Sellers. Through Biz Sellers, Andrew & Leah have personally bought and sold dozens of businesses in a variety of sectors.
Since 2001 Andrew has owned and/or operated minor league sports teams in indoor football, hockey, and basketball. In addition to sports team ownership, the pair also has owned several minor league sports leagues in indoor football, hockey, and basketball.
Awarded the 2014 Streetscape Magazine’s Beyond the Best Top 50 in Business Award. Andrew was named Owner of the Year in the X-League during the 2014 season. In 2015, Andrew was appointed to the Board of Directors of the St. Charles City-County Library Foundation. In January 2016 Andrew joined the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Polk County.
The Haines’s currently have ownership in multiple businesses including a Marketing Agency and Manufacturing Company. They volunteer at several charities, and have served as board members on 3 non-profit organizations. The couple has a daughter Natira, and son A.J..
Shelly Clark – Co-Owner
Shelly Clark is the President and Owner of Cardinal Surveying & Mapping, LLC and Cardinal Continuing Education, LLC.
Shelly has a Bachelors of Science in Education from Kent State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is also a Land Surveyor in Training in Missouri.
Shelly started Cardinal Surveying in March of 2003. Based in St Charles, Missouri, Cardinal Surveying focuses on residential and commercial surveying services in the St Louis Metro area. Cardinal Surveying is rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau.
Cardinal Continuing Education, LLC is the newest addition to the Cardinal family. Cardinal CE provides educational classes for Missouri Realtors, focusing on surveying related matters.
Shelly has been married to her husband, Will, for 20 year. They have 2 children, Tyler (16) and Annika (14). Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, reading, painting, playing darts, and attending sporting events.
Brian Roth – General Manager of Business Operations
Brian was born and raised in Chester, IL (Home of Popeye The Sailorman) and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in May, 2000 with a B.A. Degree in Recreation Management. He grew up a die-hard fan of the St. Louis Steamers, Storm, and Ambush and has extensive knowledge of indoor soccer.
After working part-time with the Ambush during his college years, Brian spent seven years as the Director of Leagues and Fitness for the City of Perryville, MO at their $10 million Perry Park Center. While living in Perryville, he also served as PA Announcer for the Southeast Missouri State women’s soccer team and football team. He then moved to Kansas City in December, 2007 to take a Sales Executive position in the Youth Soccer Department with the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting KC) of Major League Soccer.
In August, 2010, Brian left the Wizards to help start the Missouri Comets of the MISL as a Senior Account Executive. After Comets ownership added additional sports teams in 2011, Brian was promoted to Ticket Sales Manager for not only the Comets, but also the KC Command of the Arena Football League and FC Kansas City of the National Women’s Soccer League (began in 2013).
Brian is excited about moving back to St. Louis and looking forward to reviving professional soccer in the St. Louis Metro area. In his spare time, Brian enjoys spending time with family and friends, plays indoor soccer as much as possible, and is an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, FC Kansas City, US Soccer and the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks.
Jim Fossell – Director of Public Relations
Jim Fossell is a lifelong St. Louis area resident and an avid fan of indoor soccer dating back to the original Steamers in the 1980’s.
Jim’s experience includes doing public relations and marketing work for professional wrestling, indoor soccer, small businesses and numerous elected officials throughout the St. Louis area.
When it was announced that the World Indoor Soccer League had awarded a franchise to the Steamers to play at the Family Arena starting in 2000, Jim built his first website. “St. Louis Steamers – An Unofficial Website by Jim Fossell” grew to become a prominent site, earning accolades from players and fans alike.
When new owners took over the franchise prior to the 2004-05 season, one of them visited Jim’s unofficial website and was impressed with what he saw. That eventually led to Fossell joining the Steamers front office as webmaster of the team’s official website in December 2004. Jim’s duties were later expanded to include writing press releases, creating graphics for promotional materials, and authoring the “View from the Stands” column.
When the current Ambush franchise was announced in the summer of 2013, Jim joined the staff. He said, “I am truly honored to be part of the Ambush franchise and looking forward to contribute to the club’s success.” The 2016-17 season is Jim’s fourth with the Ambush and sixth in professional indoor soccer. When not working, Jim enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with his Collie named Buddy, bowling, and watching his favorite television program, The Walking Dead.
Scott Neer – Team Photographer
Born and raised in the St Charles, Missouri area, Scott possesses a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri – St Louis. His background includes Law Enforcement, volunteer firefighting and some time with Trans World Airlines when they were based in St Louis.
Scott has seven years of experience in all genres of photography but sports / action photography is where the passion burns the brightest.
Scott’s background includes photographing games for the former St Louis Blues American Hockey League affiliate the Peoria Rivermen where he had two occasions to photograph the world famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Photographing the inaugural Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in 2012 was a recent highlight. He has also been a Volunteer photographer at the St Louis Zoo for 4 years where his photographs have been published in many zoo periodicals, posters and books.
Scott also currently serves as Team Photographer for the St Louis Attack professional arena football team and covers other local sporting events for Mound City Sports, the highlight of which was the Mizzou vs Texas A&M NCAA Football game in November of 2013.
Scott’s passion for photography is his driving force to bring the best actions shots to the fans of the sports teams he works for.
Scott also enjoys his time teaching photography to his 20 year old son Brandon, who is also a very talented photographer in his own right.
Chris Kairos – Creative Director/Graphic Designer
Chris Kairos is a 10-years experienced design professional and business graduate of VMC. Chris understands the important aspects of effective creativity, and how to achieve real-life results through branding and design. Over the course of his career he has developed a proficient understanding in logo design, brand development, graphic design, web design, mobile application/UI, and print design. Chris’ experience stems from having opportunities in his career to serve as a business owner, art director, graphic designer, and production assistant.
