AMBUSH CLOSE OUT 2024 AGAINST CROSS-STATE RIVALS

St. Charles, Missouri (December 29, 2024) – The St. Louis Ambush close out the 2024 calendar year when they host the I-70 rival Kansas City Comets on New Year’s Eve at 2:05 p.m. CT at The Family Arena in St. Charles.

Tuesday’s clash is the sixth game of the 2024-25 regular season for both teams and the fourth head-to-head meeting. After the Comets won the first two encounters, the Ambush ground out a 5-4 overtime victory in the most recent game December 28 at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. After this game, the two teams will not meet again until February 16, 2025.

The Ambush are led by Franck Tayou, who has three goals and four assists in his last three games, and Will Eskay, who has four goals and two assists in his last three appearances. Lucas Almeida has been the team’s primary play maker, with five assists in his last three games and the game-winning goal in the December 28 overtime affair.

Rian Marques has been on fire for the Comets, with five goals and five assists in his last three games and a nine-game scoring streak going back to April 19 last season, along with a 16-game points streak going back to February 16. Another offensive threat for Kansas City is Christian Anderaos, who has tallied five goals in his last three games.

Tuesday’s New Year’s Eve game includes the popular annual Kid’s Bash which features party hats and noisemakers for the fans, light sticks for the first 1,000 fans courtesy of St. Luke's Hospital, and a New Year’s style countdown and balloon drop on the field after the game.
