St. Charles, Missouri (October 24, 2024) – The St. Louis Ambush have re-signed forward Robert “Robby” Kristo to a three-year contract extension, the team announced today.

The 2024-25 season will be Kristo’s fourth with the Ambush and in the Major Arena Soccer League. In his first three seasons, he appeared in 57 games, scoring 42 goals, adding 23 assists and blocking 12 opposing shots. He is looking to rebound from an ACL injury that cut his 2023-24 season short.

Prior to joining the Ambush in 2021, Kristo played for Spezia Calcio, Spezia Italy- 2015-2016 serie B, VFL Osnabruck, Osnabruck Germany, 2016-2018, and North Carolina FC in USL League One.

Kristo played collegiate soccer at St. Louis University, where he was Rookie of the Year, a three-time All-American and A-10 Offensive Player of the Year. He was also a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy three times and finished in the top ten in SLU history in points.

Kristo played high school soccer at Parkway North, where he earned team MVP, All-Conference and All-State honors. He played club soccer for St. Louis Scott Gallagher. Robby was born in Croatia and grew up in St. Louis, where he calls home.

Ambush co-owner, General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Locker said, “We’re pleased with Robby’s progress during his first three seasons and are hoping for him to bounce back from last season’s season’s injury and be a key part of our success.”

Kristo said, “With what ownership has done by signing some talent and experience, I had no choice but to stay and continue building with this organization. Excited to get to work and play in my home town for a couple more years with a hungry group of guys and a fan base that deserves a winning mentality!”

The Ambush will kick off their twelfth season when they take the field for their home opener at The Family Arena on Black Friday, November 29. Season, single-game and group tickets are now on sale.
