MASL RELEASES JANUARY SCHEDULE FOR 2021 REGULAR SEASON
St. Charles, Missouri (December 9, 2020) – The Major Arena Soccer League will kick off their 2021 regular season in January, the league announced today. Given the uncertainty of the pandemic nationwide and the limited availability of arena dates around the league, only the first month of the year has been solidified and includes six teams participating in a total of 14 games during the month of January.
The St. Louis Ambush, Kansas City Comets, Dallas Sidekicks, San Diego Sockers, Tacoma Stars and Florida Tropics have all committed to dates for January. “With the COVID-19 situation changing nearly daily across the country and the restrictions that come and go with that, long-term scheduling is difficult, but the league is doing its best to put together a season for our fans,” said MASL Vice President of Operations Jon Ramin.

The MASL announced in early December that 11 clubs intended to participate in a modified 2021 regular season: Baltimore, Dallas, Florida, Harrisburg, Kansas City, Ontario, Rochester, San Diego, St. Louis, Tacoma and Utica. While the league is navigating ongoing changes and COVID-19 related restrictions, they anticipate announcing schedules on a month-to-month basis going forward with the goal of releasing an extended schedule further into the season if circumstances permit. Also previously announced, Mesquite, Milwaukee, Monterrey, Sonora and Turlock will sit out the upcoming campaign due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. These teams remain active members in good standing in the MASL.
